Video, 2 min 13 sFinding a relocation agency in Switzerland: how it works
On ReloFinder you answer four quick questions once.
WatchA Swiss relocation agency does four things: home search, permits, settling-in and school search. A home search costs on average around CHF 2,500 to 5,000; permits and schools are quoted on top of a package.
What does a relocation agency actually do in Switzerland? ReloFinder compares 54 Swiss agencies on the four things they do: home search, permits, settling-in and school search.
First, home search. Only 0.93% of Swiss homes stood empty on 1 June 2026. Agencies hear about flats before the portals, book the viewings and build the dossier landlords accept. 48 agencies offer it, and they report 4 to 8 weeks from brief to keys.
Second, permits. EU and EFTA citizens register. Everyone else needs a quota permit, a labour-market case and the right salary. 36 agencies handle permits.
Third, settling-in. You register at your commune within 14 days, and that starts a three-month clock for health insurance. Then a bank account, utilities and a licence exchange. 43 agencies do it with their clients, and a settling-in day typically costs around CHF 2,000.
Fourth, school search. Popular international schools fill early, and your address decides the public school. 43 agencies work as education advisers. International day schools charge about CHF 14,000 to 40,000 a year in tuition; public school is free.
Most agencies do more than one: 36 of the 54 do home search, permits and settling-in together. So read what a package covers. A full-service package typically costs around CHF 6,000, for home search and moving in; permits and schools are quoted on top.
52 of the 54 offer a free first consultation. On ReloFinder, a person reads your request within one business day and passes it to one partner agency. It is free for you, and no agency pays ReloFinder anything.
