"Where do I even start? I would go as far as to say that without Anchor Relocation Services, the move would have not been possible! We decided at the end of April to move by the end of June from The States to Switzerland. During this time, we were faced not only with the task of finding an apartment that suited our budget but one that was available for our move in date. No small feat given the housing crises that Zurich also faces with an available inventory of under 1% at that time. Here is where the team from Anchor Relocation (special gratitude to Corina with her marvelously unshakeable and kind demeanor) really made their mark. They are well connected with many of the administering companies ("Verwaltungen"), which manage most of the city's apartments for various landlords (whether those are private, commercial or the city of Zurich). Not having any Swiss-based renting history, we really benefited of working with Anchor Relocation because with Anchor's "sign of approval" and their network, we shot up the waiting and candidate's list for apartments. But that's not all: they will go on viewings for you, send you pictures of nooks and corners, which aren't available on the published apartment pictures online and also do video walk-throughs. When you hire Anchor Relocation you not only get a fantastic, caring real-estate "broker" and consultant, but a team of people who try to help at every turn. We managed and organized most of the move long-distance from across the Atlantic, so having having true professionals (like Corina) on the ground, who also made dozens of calls on our behalf to different authorities was particularly helpful. Whether it was an immigration question, a veterinary question (for our dog), questions regarding our driver's licenses or support on finding the right insurance companies (and selecting the right plans), Anchor Relocation was there along the way, going above and beyond our expectations. The cherry on top was the apartment hand-over, where Corina guided us through the process, documenting any scratches and cracks, as well as leading the follow-up communications with the apartment's administering body. Across these two months, Corina and the team were not only patient, empathetic of our situation and kind, but also true professionals. Not a given, since we must have had close to one-hundred questions during these two months. For anyone still unsure, perhaps this will help: At first, the fees were a little higher than the budget we had initially set aside, but in hindsight was it not only worth it, but saved us several hundred Franks, possibly thousands.
